Notes from Friday's Google Apps K-12 South Regional Meetup
Wow! We had a great meetup on Friday at St. George's Independent School in Collierville, TN (Memphis). We were excited about our day together, the discussions we had, things that we learned, and the plan for a follow-up meeting in November. Kudos to Derrick Waddell and Beth Billingsley for being such awesome help at our inaugural meeting! If you weren't able to attend, I have shared the Friday's agenda for you to view. On the agenda are two other links that I think you will find of interest. One is a link to Google Apps resources that Derrick Waddell so generously compiled. The other is a link to a document that has some of the sites, docs, etc. that were discussed and shared at our meeting on Friday. (Just in case the above link doesn't work, bit.ly URL is below for you.) One note: the topics that were discussed and the presentations that were given were all submitted through the Google form that attendees completed to register for the meetup. http://bit.ly/googlesouth Photos from the day's event can be found here: https://picasaweb.google.com/111461168395068716597/GoogleAppsK12SouthRegionalMeetup I wish you could have all joined us, but maybe you can make it to the next meeting in the Memphis area in November. We hope this is one of many to come! Sharing among our great Google community is one of the many things that makes Google Apps so special! We are always learning from each other! Have a great week! Meeting in the Memphis, TN area on Friday, September 23rd. It will be
hosted at St. George's Independent School, 1880 Wolf River Blvd.,
Collierville, TN, 38017. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. central time
and will last until noon—or as long as you want to stay!
Please RSVP for this event here. We would love to have you join us for this fun and informative event. This is a great opportunity to meet your fellow Google Apps users, share your successes, and discuss any issues you might be experiencing. Most of all it is a time to build the relationships in our community and be inspired to increase the creative use of Google Apps in your school community. We look forward to you joining us at this event, and I hope it will be one of many we can host in the future. Please come prepared to share one great use of Google Apps that you have implemented at your school, whether it is a little one or a big one. Let's learn from each other! At some time during the meeting we can divide into two groups: instructional and technical. The agenda will be fluid and partially determined by the responses I get through the RSVP form (see below). This meeting is all about supporting each other in the Google Apps K12 community, so we hope you will be able to join us. Please RSVP for this event by Monday, September 19th! A light breakfast and lunch are being furnished by Google (thank you, Dana and Google!), and we will have some Google "swag" to give you as well. So, come hungry! We look forward to seeing you on Friday, September 23rd, at 9:00 a.m.! I hope you will be able to join us! J.
